3-and-a-HALF!

Kasper turned 3-and-a-half Monday. He wanted a blueberry pie; we compromised with a blueberry crisp since I'm pastry-adverse.

Just call him Pickles

I bought a cucumber at the farmer's market and Kasper asked, "Mama, what happened to your pickle?" It looks like Emmett is a pickle lover too. I guess we can start ordering two"Dill-on-a-stick" from the Pickle Man at the Saturday market.

School's out for summer

Well, preschool camp is over. Our summer officially begins today. Look out grocery store, here we come!

Two notes on today's cuteness: Kasper is not naked, he's wearing underpants while he enjoys a story with Gran (only because the rule at Mema's house is if you're naked, she can pinch your bottom). Emmett still hasn't ridden in the stroller, he was taking a break between riding on my front and my back.

Preschool smackdown

I'm sure there is a pool on when Kasper gets in to his first brawl.

Whoever has almost 3.5 years old, you win.

Obviously, Kasper hasn't let his wounds get him down.

And no, I haven't seen the other kid yet. And I doubt his mom will let me take photos for the blog.

Land of the Rising & Hot Hot Suns

Patrick is in Japan (well, depending on when you see this, he might be in Guam). He's having a fine time, although he is eating shockingly little Japanese food. I'm sure he'll have lots to report next week.

The boys and I road-tripped south with Mema and are basking in the 100+ degree weather here in North Carolina. And by basking, I mean hiding out in the house with the air conditioning on. Kasper is getting quicker and Emmett is getting cuter (and more enormous, 18lbs 14oz at his check-up last week). Mema is trying to teach Emmett to crawl and pull himself up to standing - I'm working furiously to thwart her. Kasper is keeping her very busy, filling the bird feeders, cooking, recycling, watering the garden - everything takes just that much longer with a helpful Kasper.

Hope everyone out there is staying cool!
