Friday Night Videos
Kasper was playing in his chair earlier today. Here's a short video of the festivities.
The life and times of the Virginia Woodfords - Patrick, Meaghan, Kasper and Emmett. Because we're only as far away as a mouse click... or a plane ticket!

Meaghan is back at work, leaving me home alone with the baby for the first time. He's asleep for now, and she just left, so we've got about four hours to go. What are the odds he sleeps the whole time? Not good. Here's hoping he takes it easy on me.

Overnight, it seems, our little boy has become a bit less little than he was. All of the clothes he'd been wearing his entire life are suddenly just a bit too tight (God, do I know that feeling). We can feel it when we pick him up, too. There's just a lot more of him to love than there used to be. It's great that he's putting on weight, but it's a little alarming, too. Do they really grow up this fast? He's practically ready to shave!

We're laying low tonight after a day spent running errands, including a trip to Target (eat your hearts out, Mainers!) I just put Kasper down for a nap, continuing a roll in which he's fallen right to sleep for me every time. Okay, it's not always pretty. Good thing I'm machine washable.

Best wishes to my parents, who are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary today. It's always amazing and inspiring to see two people stay in love and devoted to each other for so long. Have fun today -- day No. 14,610 of your marriage (you probably didn't really need that little nugget of information, did you ...)
And Dad, just in case you need some late shopping help, the traditional 40th Anniversary gift is a ruby.

Making headlines 600 miles away, in Maine's best smalltown weekly, The Original Irregular. Word filtering back from the Kingfield area is that everyone thinks he's "wicked cute." Now it's just a matter of time before his mug shows up again in "Question of the Week."

I could have posted a few hundred pictures like this, since Kasper has spent practically every moment of his Uncle Chris' visit curled up on his chest. Maybe he knows he's got unlimited visits to the family pool in his future if he plays his cards right. Chris has to fly home this afternoon for his wife's birthday -- Happy B-Day Becky! -- and hopefully Kasper will have woken up by then so he can catch his flight.
It's been a pretty adventurous week so far for our little man. Monday night we spent the evening with our friends Marc and Maria and their beautiful daughter Kristiana. We had an amazing Filipino meal, and Maria absolutely loved having a baby to cuddle again. Which is good, because she's having her second later this year! Congratulations Maria! It's going to be a tall order to have a second baby just as cute as Kristiana.

I'm off to work, but others who had a more adventurous evening are sleeping in -- dreaming of a Pats victory, too, no doubt. We had a long talk about this last night and Kasper said he's convinced that Belichick will have a scheme to force McNabb into risky passes while neutralizing Brian Westbrook. Or maybe that was just gas. Enjoy the game!

Here's a bonus for anyone with a high-speed connection: a 29-second (5.9MB) video of, well ... who else? Kasper managed to stay completely still throughout the entire clip, defeating the purpose of this little experiment altogether. Funny, he can't seem to stay still long enough to get a still picture taken. Cute and crafty!
Oh, and for those of you on dial-up, we've got a little love for you, too.
