Past due

Today was the official due date, although the doctor told Meaghan she'd probably go early. Well, no such luck. We made an unscheduled trip to the doctor's office today because Meaghan had a dull ache in her abdomen, but that turned out to be nothing. We did get a bonus ultrasound out of the deal. The kid could very well be cute -- hard to tell, since ultrasound pictures are a little dodgy.

We see the doctor again tomorrow. If nothing's changed, we'll likely talk about inducing labor. One way or another, this kid's coming out!

Merry Christmas!

Being so far away from our families, Christmas is always a little bittersweet. We miss our friends and family in Maine and, with the baby due at any moment, we weren't able to travel to see Meaghan's family in North Carolina, either. But we're thinking of you all. Well, I was right up until I popped my new 2004 Red Sox "Faith Rewarded" DVD in, then I got a little distracted. Spoiler alert -- the Sox win it all in end.

And did you like our tree? It's about 3 feet tall, but I used a camera trick to make it look huge -- at least 4 feet high! Nice to know those hours spent watching the documentary footage on the Return of the King DVD weren't wasted, eh?

Still waiting...

Kasper's due to arrive Dec. 29th, but we've been hoping he'll show up early. The doctor said last Thursday that her guess was 7-10 days, putting his ETA right around Christmas. We're tired of waiting, but it's too much to ask a child of ours to show up anywhere on time, much less early!

Because I'm such a lazy e-mailer...

I thought I'd start a blog to share what's going on with Meaghan and I here in Virginia for any Woodfords, Rynnes or other interested parties to check out. Right now its the early afternoon, so that means we're up -- barely. It's a drizzly November day, so we're going to lay low. Exciting, eh?
